A writing style controls how cleaned dictation sounds. It sits on top of AI cleanup and is separate from your cleanup prompt, so you can mix any prompt with any style. Pick one in Settings → Dictation → AI cleanup → Writing style.

Built-in styles

Every built-in style preserves your meaning, facts, and point of view, and keeps the length close to what you said. Concise is the one exception, and it is allowed to shorten but still not to drop a detail.

Creating your own

The built-ins are fixed, but you can save any number of your own beside them. In the Writing style section, choose Create style.
1

Name it

For example, “Calm and clean”.
2

Write the instructions

Describe precisely how the wording should change. For example: “Remove profanity and replace it with calm, neutral wording.”
Both fields are required. Your new style is selected as soon as you save it, and it appears in the same dropdown as the built-ins from then on. Select it and use Edit to change or delete it. Built-in styles have no edit button, because there is nothing stored to edit.
Your style never replaces your cleanup prompt. Both are sent to the model together. Cleanup strength is a third, independent dial: it decides how much of your rambling gets tidied away, while the style decides the register of whatever survives.
