Hold the ask shortcut and talk. What you said becomes the question, and the answer streams into a card over whatever app you are in. Select some text first and the answer is about it. One question, one answer, then Copy, Insert, or Replace.

Shortcuts

The shortcut follows the Hold to talk / Tap to toggle switch on the Home page (and in Settings → Shortcuts). Hold to talk is the default: hold the keys while you talk, let go, and the answer appears. You can change the keys by clicking them on the Assistant page or in Settings → Shortcuts.

Ask by voice

  1. Hold the ask keys and talk.
  2. A small pill appears, showing that it is listening.
  3. Let go. The pill becomes a card and the answer streams in.
If you selected text before pressing the keys, SpeakoFlow reads that selection and the answer is about it. A chip on the card confirms what was attached (selection, screen, or both).

Ask by typing

Open the panel from the tray icon or start an ask without speaking. The pill becomes a text field. Type your question and press Enter. The rest works the same way. On Windows the panel does not take keyboard focus when it appears, so a voice ask never pulls focus from the app you are talking about. Clicking the text field or starting to type is what gives it the keyboard.

The answer card

When the first token arrives the pill unfolds into a card. The answer streams in as markdown: headings, lists, code blocks with their own copy button. Three actions sit at the bottom of the card: If the ask set a reminder, the card confirms it and offers Undo instead of Insert. A Retry button re-asks the question for a fresh answer. Stop (while the answer is still streaming) cuts it off and keeps what was written so far.

Where it appears

The card opens at a fixed spot on screen, chosen on the Assistant page under Floating panel. Five positions are available: Middle of the screen, Top, Bottom, Left side, and Right side. The default is Top. On a multi-monitor setup, the Which screen setting controls which display the card opens on. The default, Where the cursor is, places it on the monitor your mouse is on when you press the keys. Text size has four levels: Small, Medium, Large, and Extra large. Medium is the default. Opacity runs from 50% to 100% (default 100%). Lower values let the desktop show through the card.

How each ask works

Every ask starts from an empty conversation. There is no follow-up field: one question, one answer. Hiding the panel clears it. To continue a conversation from an earlier ask, find it in History and choose Continue. That opens a conversation, not another quick ask.

Esc

Press Esc while the answer is streaming to stop it. The partial answer stays on the card.
