Say “remind me to send the invoice in twenty minutes” and the assistant sets it. When the time comes, a notification pops up over whatever you are doing.

Setting a reminder

Ask in your own words during a quick ask or a conversation:
  • “Remind me to call Sam in 20 minutes.”
  • “Set a reminder at 3 PM to check the build.”
  • “In half an hour, remind me to reply to that email.”
The assistant has a clock, so it resolves “in twenty minutes” or “at six” into an exact time. Times are local: “at six” means six where you are. If the time is already past or less than a few seconds away, the assistant says so instead of setting it. It also refuses anything more than a year out, which is almost always a mistake. When the quick ask sets a reminder, the answer card confirms it with a chip showing when it will fire, and offers Undo to cancel it right away.

Listing and cancelling

Ask the assistant “what reminders do I have?” and it lists them. Ask “cancel the invoice reminder” and it removes it. No need to open a settings page for either. Reminders also appear on the Assistant page under Reminders, where you can cancel any of them by clicking the X beside it.

The popup

When a reminder comes due, a card appears in the top-right corner of the display your cursor is on. It is always on top, does not take keyboard focus (on Windows), and never goes away on its own. Three controls on the card: If several reminders come due at once, they stack in the same popup window. The popup follows the text size set for the assistant panel, so a larger text size there means a larger reminder too.

Survives restarts

Reminders are written to disk the moment they are created. Quitting the app, a crash, or a reboot does not lose them. Anything that came due while the app was closed fires on the next launch. A reminder that fired and was never acknowledged (neither Done nor Snooze) is shown again once at startup.

Sound

A reminder plays a sound when it fires, even when the feedback beep setting is off. That setting controls the start-and-stop dictation beeps, not reminders. A reminder that makes no sound has failed.

Quick ask

Hold the keys and ask.
